Examination Description
The most advanced mammography technology in Malta just arrived at our clinic - the AMULET Sophinity by Fujifilm. This state of the art 3D mammography system offers greater precision and comfort than traditional mammograms, helping detect breast changes earlier and with more confidence. What Makes 3D Mammogram Different? Traditional mammogram: Captures two flat, 2D x-ray images of the breast. Sometimes overlapping breast tissue can hide small abnormalities. AMULET Sophinity Mammogram: Uses tomosynthesis to take multiple low-dose images from different angles. Reconstructs them into thin, detailed slices (like flipping through pages of a book). Reduces the problem of overlapping tissue, making it easier to spot even the smallest changes. Offers sharper clarity with lower radiation thanks to Fujifilm's advanced sensor technology. Preparation: Please do not apply any talcum powder or deodorant. Mammograms detect about 84% of breast cancers in women without symptoms.

However, the total time spent at the clinic may vary depending on the type of examination, preparation required, consultation, results discussion, additional imaging or views, and whether further assessment is needed on the day. The appointment time shown when booking reflects the reserved time slot for the examination itself and may not represent the total time spent at the clinic. Insurance Coverage: Local insurance claim forms are available at our clinic. It is your responsibility to verify coverage with your insurance provider. Late Arrival policy: If you anticipate being late for your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate you, but please note that late arrivals may result in shortened appointment time or rescheduling, depending on the circumstances.
